Privacy Policy

Gifted Online values and respects the privacy of the people we deal with. Gifted Online is committed to protecting your privacy and complying with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Privacy Act) and other applicable privacy laws and regulations.

This Privacy Policy (Policy) describes how we collect, hold, and use your personal information, and how we maintain the quality and security of your personal information.

What is “Personal Information”?

“Personal information” means any information or opinion, whether true or not, and whether recorded in a material form or not, about an identified individual or an individual who is reasonably identifiable. In general terms, this includes information or an opinion that personally identifies you either directly (e.g. your name) or indirectly.

What personal information do we collect?

The personal information we collect about you depends on the nature of your dealings with us or what you choose to share with us. When you register for a course we collect only your name, username and e-mail address.  We do not collect or store credit-card or bank-account details at any stage.

If you choose to deal with us  but choose not to provide us with the above personal information, we may not be able to provide you with our products, services or otherwise interact with you.

How do we collect your personal information?

Routinely, we collect your personal information directly from you when you:

  • interact with us online;
  • participate in surveys or questionnaires.

In some instances we may also collect your personal information directly from you when you:

  • interact with us over the phone;
  • interact with us in person.

In no instance is personal information collected through a third party.

How do we use your personal information?

We use personal information for many purposes in connection with our functions and activities, including the following purposes: 

  • to provide you with information or services that you request from us;
  • deliver to you a more personalised experience and service offering;
  • internal administrative purposes;
  • marketing and research purposes.

Disclosure of personal information to third parties

We may disclose your personal information to third parties in accordance with this Policy in circumstances where you would reasonably expect us to disclose your information. For example, we may disclose your personal information to:

  • our third party service providers (for example, our IT providers, in the course of them dealing with a reported issue).

How do we protect your personal information? Data storage and security

Gifted Online will take reasonable steps to ensure that the personal information that we hold about you is kept confidential and secure. 

Data storage and security

  • Your account information (name, e-mail, username) and course progress are stored in our WordPress database hosted by WP Engine in an ISO 27001-compliant AWS data-centre (Sydney).  WP Engine applies 24/7 monitoring, managed firewalls and malware scanning. The entire site is backed up every 24 hours, and at least the 30 most recent days (up to 40 snapshots) are retained.

Payment Security

  • Payments are handled exclusively by Stripe Checkout; card data is sent directly to Stripe’s PCI-DSS Level 1 infrastructure and never touches Gifted Online servers.

Retention of personal information

  • We will not keep your personal information for longer than we need to. In most cases, this means that we will only retain your personal information for the duration of your relationship with us as a customer, for a six (6) month period to allow for resource updates to be passed on. 
  • Inactive accounts may be deleted or anonymised after six (6) months of inactivity unless we are required to retain limited records for statutory reasons (e.g. invoicing).  

How to access and correct your personal information

Gifted Online will endeavour to keep your personal information accurate, complete and up to date.

You can request access, correction or deletion of your personal information at any time via admin@gifted-online.com.  We will respond within 30 days, in line with the Australian Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). We will deal with such a request by following the procedure outlined below:

  • Request for amendment to personal information is submitted by you, the customer via email to admin@gifted-online.com (e.g. correction to the spelling of a name).
  • The requested amendment is made by Gifted Online personnel.
  • Gifted Online will notify you of the correction via email to the address supplied.

Cookies & analytics

Gifted Online uses only essential WordPress/LearnDash cookies for log-in sessions and course progress.  We do not run third-party marketing pixels or analytics tools at this time.  Blocking cookies may affect course functionality.

Marketing emails

We send transactional emails (account confirmation, purchase receipts, password resets) only.  You will not receive marketing messages unless you explicitly opt in.

Links to third party sites

Gifted Online website(s) may contain links to websites operated by third parties. If you access a third party website through our website(s), personal information may be collected by that third party website. We make no representations or warranties in relation to the privacy practices of any third party provider or website and we are not responsible for the privacy policies or the content of any third party provider or website. Third party providers / websites are responsible for informing you about their own privacy practices and we encourage you to read their privacy policies.

Inquiries and complaints

For complaints about how Gifted Online handles, processes, or manages your personal information, please contact us for assistance via email at admin@gifted-online.com. 

Please allow up to two (2) days for Gifted Online to respond to your complaint. It will not always be possible to resolve a complaint to everyone’s satisfaction. If you are not satisfied with Gifted Online’s response to a complaint, you have the right to contact the Office of Australian Information Commissioner (atwww.oaic.gov.au/) to lodge a complaint.
