Tailoring Learning: An Introduction to Differentiation for the Gifted introduces teachers to the rationale for classroom differentiation, and its purpose. It explores ‘generic’ versus ‘informed’ differentiation, and introduces some simple, foundational strategies to plan engaging and effective differentiated learning across a range of student abilities in the classroom.

Tailoring Learning: An Introduction to Differentiation for the Gifted is an online course developed by G&t4you Pty Ltd, t/as Gifted Online.  The course is 1.5 hours in duration. Each module may consist of any of the following: learning content, quizzes and optional self-reflection tasks.

Context: As outlined in the Australian Teaching Standards (2022), it is every teacher’s responsibility to know how to effectively engage their students in learning. By completing the online course, Tailoring Learning: An Introduction to Differentiation for the Gifted, participants demonstrate an interest in building their skills to support the differing needs of gifted students and an active intention to undertake professional learning in order to  improve their teaching practice.

Learning outcomes for participants in Tailoring Learning: An Introduction to Differentiation for the Gifted address the following:
