Perfectionism and Why Pencils Have Erasers

Perfectionism & Why Pencils Have Erasers introduces teachers to the different forms that perfectionism may take and the factors that contribute to healthy and unhealthy perfectionism. It explores the beliefs and behaviours associated with perfectionism, and suggests strategies that parents, teachers and the students themselves can implement to reduce or eliminate perfectionistic behaviours that may be negatively impacting students.
Perfectionism & Why Pencils Have Erasers is an online course developed by G&t4you Pty Ltd, t/as Gifted Online. The course is 1.5 hours in duration. Each module may consist of the following: learning content, quizzes and some optional self-reflection tasks.
Context: As outlined in the Australian Teaching Standards (2022), it is every teacher’s responsibility to have a clear understanding and knowledge of their students and how they learn. By completing the online course, Perfectionism & Why Pencils Have Erasers, participants demonstrate an active intention to better understand their students, and therefore more effectively support both learning and wellbeing, to reduce the incidence of perfectionistic behaviours.
